Hi friend!
Glad you're here. I'm happy to make the sliding scale option possible to make these classes more accessible to everyone. Please take a moment and read this note about sliding scale and capitalism:
A few words about the sliding scale.
Capitalism is a tricky beast! We all get hit in different ways by it. It works really well for some of us and less well for others -- certainly with hard work, often with privilege and unearned access to wealth. It's profoundly dehumanizing. It works better when we're not connected, which means that connecting with one another puts some cracks in the machine.
At the heart of the work I do is the goal of deepening connections with one another and ourselves. I daresay that's one of the powerful ways we dismantle the dehumanizing effects of capitalism. SO it's important to me that all voices get to come to the table to tell their stories and speak their truths.
The sliding scale isn't about easing up on your cash flow, or paying lower so you can afford that vacation in Hawaii. It's about access. If you have access to wealth & capital, (i.e. you went to private college, you've inherited money, you take regular vacations) consider paying higher on the scale.
If you have had significant obstacles on your journey to sustaining yourself in this economy (you're a person of color, you didn't go to college, you were raised working class, etc.) I invite you to pay lower on the scale. If you're doin ok, or you don't want to think about it, pay the break-even fee.
I'm a single female supporting myself solely with the revenue I generate through my business. I don't have a trust fund or a partner helping to support me. I'm passionate about doing the work of reclaiming our humanity in service of creating a better world. Which includes making this work accessible to all voices, while also generating sustainable revenue for my life.
Thanks for considering. This isn't an application process. No vetting. I realize this is a very simplified assessment of a complex mechanism. Do your own thinking. I trust you. Pay what works for you. I want you in the room. Please don't let financial limitations keep you from doing the workshop. No questions asked.
Here's a scale to help:
Decide your fee and enter it in the payment field
Student/low-income -- $150
Break even -- $250
Stable/supporting -- $350
