Speaker's Playground - CO Summer 2026

We're getting the band back together and we want YOU in the room!

Speaker's Playground is happening IN PERSON in Lafayette in August.

Three weeks of summer fun, where you can hone your speaking skills, let more of your light shine, and connect with other brave speakers on the path.

It's a training & practice group to help you gain speaking confidence and develop the skills to own the stage in any situation. (And have a whole lot more fun doing it!)

  • IN PERSON, theme-based sessions: We’ll meet 3 Wednesdays, 6:30-8:30pm at Nyland Co-Housing Common House in Lafayette, CO. Each session will focus on a different theme. (Connection, Presence, Managing Fear, Body Language, Vocal Power, etc)

    Wednesdays, August 5, 12 & 19

  • Practice opportunities: At each meeting you’ll have the opportunity to get on your feet, connect to your body & voice (so they don’t betray you when it’s your turn to speak) and transform nerves into your battery pack of power.

  • Attendance: If you've never been to Speaker's Playground, I recommend you come to all 3 sessions if at all possible. (That said, I won't say you can't come if you can only come to one.) If you're a former member, you're welcome to drop in to one session. (But you know the rest of us want you there for all three!)

  • Total Investment:
    Summer sprint -- $165
Sliding Scale options available (scroll down).

  • Want extended 1:1 support while Johanna's in Colorado? Schedule a call with Johanna to talk about options.

  • If you can't make all three sessions, please VENMO Johanna your drop in rate $55/session (or $35-75 sliding scale) @Johanna-Walker-1. Scroll down to read more about sliding scale options

➡️ ➡️ SLIDING SCALE!!  Please read on...

💸 Do you have financial constraints that make participating in this class prohibitive for you?

💸 Do you have access to resource and want to help make it possible for lower income folks to join us?

I’m glad you’re here. I offer a sliding scale because I want this work to be accessible to more people, while also making it sustainable for me to continue offering it.

At the heart of this class is connection — with ourselves, with one another, and with the stories that help us make meaning of our lives. I want as many voices as possible in the room.

Sliding scale is about access. If you have access to financial stability, inherited wealth, family support, regular travel, or other forms of economic ease, please consider choosing the higher end of the scale. Your contribution helps make space for someone with fewer resources to be able to participate.

If you’ve faced circumstances or systemic barriers that have made financial stability harder to come by -- whether because of discrimination, disability, chronic illness, caregiving or other life realities --   please choose the lower end. No application. No explanation needed. I trust you.

I’m a single woman supporting myself with the revenue I generate through my business. I don't have a partner or a trust fund supporting me. I’m committed to making this work accessible while also creating a sustainable livelihood for myself.

Pay what works for you. I want you in the room.

Here's a suggested scale to help determine where you land
Choose your rate and enter it in the payment field to the right

Access Rate — $100

For students, low-income folks, or anyone for whom paying the full fee would be a barrier to participating.

Sustaining Rate — $165
The break-even rate. Choose this if you’re doing okay and want to pay the standard fee.

Supporting Rate — $225
Choose this if you have more financial stability and want to help make the class accessible to others.

$90-$225

REFUND POLICY: Your presence matters! When you join Speaker’s Playground, you’re saying yes to your own growth as a speaker—and to the shared energy of a committed group. Each participant plays an important role in creating the experience.

I’m fully committed to your transformation, and I ask you to step in with the same level of commitment. For that reason, once your final payment is made, tuition is non-refundable.
